That’s when you find yourself starting to imagine you’ll be able to tell what works, and what doesn’t, based on how the site looks and what the copy writing says. And when you realize they basically all say the same thing,…you narrow it down to ‘who promises what’.
Who promises it is so easy a baby can do it?
Who promises you can make thousands with basically no investment?
Who promises that you can accomplish that in just 15 minutes a day?
Who promises that they have everything you need in place, all you have to do is join?
Who promises the fastest, and the mostest, (yes, I know it is not a word:) and the cheapest , and the easiest?

Pretty soon you find yourself with a daisy in your hand pulling petals – “Legit”….”Not legit”…..”Legit”….”Not….

Yes,..it can seem like an impossible process….but it isnt when you understand what it actually takes to create income for yourself online. And if you understand that, then you would know – The LAST PLACE you want to START when you’re looking to create income online for yourself -  is by searching for a legitimate business.

FIND THE RIGHT MARKETING STRATEGY FIRST! If you have the right marketing strategy then you can plug ‘any’ business into it. Making money online STARTS with knowing HOW you are going to accomplish that….and it is not by joining a business….that is not a strategy, that is just “one spoke” in the wheel of income.

Most people feel like creating income online falls into that “Gray” category,.that you can never be absolutely positive of how to do it, and some people are luckier than others. NOTHING could be further from the truth.

Making money online is a calculated and predictable thing, when you create the RIGHT MARKETING STRATEGY! The very essence of Marketing is to wrap things in the most appealing package possible, to attract the largest audience, in order to make the biggest profit. OPPS! Scratch that. How crude of me to mention “a profit”…it might leave the impression of a motive other than the customers pure delight, for selling to them.

And products and services aren’t the only things that get wrapped in the most appealing package in order to attract the largest audience – the Marketing APPROACH itself is constantly under scrutiny and getting a make-over too.

The Marketing approach most widely used at the moment is wrapped in a package called: “Attraction Marketing”. Now Attraction Marketing has been in play ever since people could converse with one another, but in the 21st century, we feel the need to package this natural god-given instinct to share with others, give it a title, and offer it as new material.

The other day on Facebook there was a guy who had the audacity to post an ad blatantly advertising his product! He didn’t offer to buy everyone dinner first, he didnt even hand out sticks of gum,…he just threw his intent right out in the open for all to see! You could almost hear the *gasps* from shocked marketers who’ve ‘embraced’ the Attraction Marketing concept.

The Product or service he offered included some of Mike Dillards material, the king of attraction marketing mantra. (which btw, we love). Almost immediately, a condescending comment was posted: “I guess he has never read the material he offers!” And a couple people responded in kind with *lol* and “that’s right”.

That made us realize the complete LACK of understanding for what Attraction Marketing is all about. It is NOT about people who have something to sell pretending they don’t -  and acting like ‘making a profit’ is the most reprehensible thing they can think of, not to mention, the furthest thing from their minds! It is not people chomping at the bit to say something about their product or service, – and restraining themselves to say: “Hi, how are you today?” instead.

This is what happens when something NATURAL is packaged and sold as something UNNATURAL…that you need to learn. It becomes contrived, and loses its appeal. It makes the A.M. under-cover Marketing M.O. something you can see from a mile away…and just gives us ‘one more reason’ to doubt people are sharing with us because they have our best interest at heart.

Personally, I am not as interested in someone’s marketing approach, as I am in the value of what they have to offer. I would rather not pretend that the most important thing to them is my happiness – and not their wallet. The world evolves around money, get over it, that is the way it works

If you focus on being consumed with ADDING VALUE to others lives through what you have to offer, the marketing approach will take care of itself, no one ever misses “Genuine” enthusiasm, and it draws people like bees to honey.

At first thought, creating growth and income for a business online should be as easy as it comes! After all, there’s an audience of millions… (Billions if you advertise globally) and you only need a handful of them to join your business, to consume your product, or to use your service,..in order.to create the life of your dreams!

It seems like the easy part would be finding people..and the hard part is finding the right business. So you take your time, and finally you align yourself with a product or service that not only are you excited about, but you can’t imagine every person you come in contact with feeling the same way! You set up your website, your online storefront is officially open for business….and you figure with all the millions of people out there surely a measly thousand or so should just pop in and take a look. But no one shows up, not even to ask to use the virtual restroom!

That is when you start to understand what “driving traffic to you site” means… (in pc terms Traffic = People) what it means not only to do it, but what it means to your survival as a business! Of course the timing for this really stinks! You’ve already invested in your business, you’ve put up your virtual storefront, and you are incurring the monthly expenses associated with being a business owner.

Well guess what? If you aren’t happy with that little realization, you really aren’t going to like this! Wait until you go out there and try “driving traffic to your site” via any one of the numerous marketing methods available…only to discover that each one of them has their own learning curve to be effective! It can take months (years for some) to master just one and by the time you do that, chances are it’s become an obsolete and ineffective way of advertising. Now the people successfully driving traffic to their sites are using a brand new piece of software, or traffic miracle..that again,…has it’s own learning curve.

SO……..How Do You Feel At This Point??

Things change when people ‘dare’ to think outside the box of what they know – and yes, that phrase has been used a lot, but it’s literally what has to happen in order to make something different than what it is. And as months turned into years, turned into a decade of chasing overnight success, instant riches, and miraculous breakthroughs, the virtual gold rush has also left millions of people standing disillusioned and disgusted. People throwing their hands up in the air vowing never again to believe in ANYTHING that says, or hints at, “getting rich quick!”

The disdain is taken seriously – smart Marketers who have “Legitimate Businesses, Products, and Services” have backed-off using hype and polished finishes as sales tactics,…and now admit that if you want to make a ’substantial income online’ you might have to apply a little bit of elbow grease to the process…yes, the dreaded “W” word. (work) That is how LOW we have sunk! People must actually imagine ‘working’ for a dream that once looked like it would be handed-over freely!

The experience of millions begs the question:

Online Marketing Strategies abound, but my favorite is ‘blogging’ – I love how blogging takes valuable information and delivers it with a “personality”. It takes  a piece of ‘lifeless content’…and gives it color, style, and pizzazz! It engages readers in not just what you say, but who you are. It allows people to decide not only where they will go to get their information,  but the personality type they want to receive it from.

Part of the magnetic attraction of the Internet is this Mythical mantra that people are coming online, plugging into one of any hundreds, if not thousands, of opportunities or programs and getting rich overnight…
QUESTION:   WHO?

WHO do you personally know who has done that?
Not who has said it, claimed it, alluded to it, but WHO do you know that has DONE it. That has plugged into some Internet opportunity or program, and created untold wealth for themselves?

I’ve been on the Internet since 1996…we’ve been leaders in the Industry, Mentors, rubbed shoulders with well known Internet guru’s,…and we have yet to meet ANYONE who can lay claim (and substantiate it) to fame and fortune from simply plugging into someone elses program. We know lots of people who have made money, we made money, but we dont know one person who has created for themselves a “substantial, consistent, long-term, sustainable financial empire”…..being a salesperson for someone elses program.

Internet opportunities and programs tend to be more like ‘temp jobs’….here today, gone tomorrow. All the rave for the moment, but then after enough people join and they start to saturate the marketplace, everyones income and conversion goes down, and it’s time to move on to something new. Yet, they draw people like bees to honey and for some people, that suits them just fine, they make a buck where they can, and when that particular money well dries up, find another. They spend day after day hustling to ‘re-create income, nothing they bring in today counts towards tomorrow.

The problem is that most of the people who join aren’t ‘hustlers’. They are hard-working, honest people who are trying to create a better life for themselves and their families with the limited resources and time they have.
